RC2 pays licensor $15 million over Thomas the Tank Engine recall

RC2 Corp., the Oak Brook toymaker that was obliged to recall about 1.7 million Thomas & Friends toy trains last year because lead in the paint was higher than U.S. regulations permit, said Monday that it agreed to pay $15 million to HIT Entertainment Ltd., the closely held company that owns the rights to the Thomas & Friends brand.
